“If I find a girl 18 or 19, she is too young and too immature and would have made so much noise that he would have either divorced or killed her! If I would have found one 25 or thereabouts, she would have drove him crazy as they think they know everything at that age and that the world is at their feet. If I found one in her 30s, if she is not married by that time, something must be wrong with her, why will he want her? A divorced one, if her husband left her it means that she was not good enough for him, if that is the case who says that she will be good enough for him? If I found a widowed one, she ate her husband already who knows, she might follow suit?”
This made Mrs. Malvinsky blanch. The Rabbi did not notice and continued:

“You know what I recommend for somebody his age? To go after their best friends wife. If she is good enough for him she will be good for him!”

“But, Rabbi, she is a widow!”

“Let’s pray child, he will need it!”
